Binh Dinh Province to become ideal place for astronomical observation

The Binh Dinh Province administration in south-central Vietnam will launch camping and astronomical observation tours to diversify tourism products to entice tourists to come and explore its beauty and attractions.

Nguyen Huu Ha, deputy director of the Binh Dinh Department of Science and Technology and head of ExploraScience Quy Nhon, said that these night tours would kick off during the summer travel season.

Situated in Ghenh Rang Ward in Quy Nhon City, a famous beach city in Binh Dinh Province, ExploraScience Quy Nhon is known as the first science exploration facility in Vietnam open to the public.

Astronomical observation tours

ExploraScience Quy Nhon will quickly finish all relevant steps to roll out the tours this summer, Ha said, adding that in the initial stage, the science exploration center will offer night tours two or three days a week to garner feedback from tourists to make the camping and astronomical observation tours better.

“Specifically, useful, abundant, and interesting knowledge about astronomy will be spread to visitors by experts to make them feel that the tours are worth spending time exploring,” Ha said.

ExploraScience Quy Nhon is in the process of preparing equipment and mobilizing skilled workers to get ready for the tours.

“We will use the observatory of the center to serve tourists on the night camping tours,” he added.

Tours geared up for astronomy lovers

“The night tours are expected to satisfy tourists, students, and astronomy lovers,” said Ha.

ExploraScience Quy Nhon has sought approval from the Binh Dinh People’s Committee to employ more non-payroll workers to strengthen workforces and ensure safety and security when these night tours are put into service.

The launch of these night tours is aimed at turning the science exploration center into one of the province’s must-see tourist sites, said Lam Hai Giang, vice-chairman of the Binh Dinh People’s Committee.

“I hope that the camping and astronomical observation tours will pay off, helping build a distinctive tourism product in Binh Dinh Province,” Giang said.
