Binh Dinh to set off high-altitude fireworks for first time

Binh Dinh Province in south-central Vietnam will entertain locals and visitors to a high-altitude fireworks display which will be held for the first time in the province on June 8.

The fireworks will light up the sky over Quy Nhon, the capital city of the province.

The pyrotechnic show, part of the opening night of a festival titled ‘Quy Nhon - Sea Paradise - Brightness for Growth,’ will last up to 15 minutes, said an official of the provincial People’s Committee on Tuesday afternoon.

The festival will be one of a series of cultural events and tourism activities until the end of the year to introduce the province as a safe, distinctive, friendly, and appealing destination.

The fest, with the high-altitude fireworks show being the highlight, is expected to entice a large number of tourists and investors to the province, contributing to boost tourism and socio-economic growth.

From June onward, the province will also bring locals and visitors to a party of a wide array of cultural and sports activities.

Among them are an ethnic minority cultural and sporting festival in Van Canh District from June 6 to 8, the first Teqball International Tournament - Teqball World Series in Vietnam, scheduled in Quy Nhon City between June 6 and 9, and a marathon event in late June.

The province aims to welcome 5.5 million travelers and earn VND18.5 trillion (US$725.6 million) from tourism revenue in 2024.

Some 2.8 million visitors traveled to Binh Dinh Province in the first quarter of 2024, a 2.2-fold year-on-year increase.

The province’s tourism revenue amounted to VND6.8 trillion ($268.7 million) in the first three months of the year, up 2.6-fold year on year, local media reported.
