New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam visits safe vegetable-growing farms in Binh Dinh

The delegation, led by New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Tredene Dobson, on June 6 visited Co.opmart supermarket, where La Lanh-branded safe vegetable is being sold, and Phuoc Hiep agricultural cooperative, which grows VietGAP-certified vegetables.

The New Zealand Government-funded safe vegetable project has been implemented in Binh Dinh since June 2016, benefiting 2,005 households.

New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Tredene Dobson is visiting a shop at Co.opmart supermarket, where La Lanh-branded vegetables is being sold.

Under the project, the brand of safe vegetables, La Lanh, was built. The area under La Lanh safe vegetables is expected to be expanded by 2025 and will be sold through commercial channels throughout the country.

According to an expert, the cultivation systems used by farmers growing produce under the La Lanh brand are suited to local conditions and have been designed carefully for safe production and post-harvest handling and to meet high food quality and safety standards.

Ms Tredene Dobson highly valued the outcome of the project and hoped that more and more farmers will join the VietGAP-certified vegetable production process.
