3R model proves effective in Nhon Ly

A project entitled “Enhancing capacity in managing and awareness of environment protection in community, building the sewage treatment model” was co-implemented by UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme and Quy Nhon Municipal People’s Committee in Quy Nhon.

Under the project, Ghenh Rang district and communes of Nhon Ly, Nhon Hai and Nhon Chau set up community groups for the sewage treatment under the 3R criteria, including Reduce, Reuse and Recylce.

Many households in Nhon Ly, particularly those who provide tourism services, were ready to respond to the project, helping the commune become cleaner.

According to Nguyen Huu Dao, a local resident in Nhon Ly, the commune has focused on developing the community tourism, all people thus are aware of the issue by stopping littering and recylcin plastic waste for useful purposes.

With the support from the project, Vice Chairman of Nhon Ly Commune’s People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Danh confirmed that the locality is becoming a green and clean village, serving tourism in a sustainable way.
